Sullivan BOCES is offering an Introduction to QuickBooks Course. Classes are

SOLAR THERMAL BASICS COURSE
Classes will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the St. John Street Education Center, in Monticello. Thanks to a NYSERDA grant, this course is being offered for only $100.00. Classes will run on Fridays from February 24 through March 26. This course is ideal for individuals who want to understand how the solar thermal system works and how they can help save fuel costs. SLAC MEETING
SLAC, The Senior Legislative Action Committee of Sullivan County invites you to the Friday, February 24 meeting at the Legislative Hearing Room of the Government Center in Monticello at 10:00 a.m. Featured speaker will be Maria Alvarez, Executive Director of the Statewide Senior Action Council. She will discuss the 2012-13 NY State Budget and its implications for Seniors and their families, and areas demanding advocacy to maintain our living conditions in these difficult times. Save the date for the Annual Advocacy Day on Friday, March 9, to be held in Middletown and Monticello. SLAC winter meetings will be canceled if the Office for the Aging Nutrition Sites are closed. LEARN TO PLAY THE BAGPIPES
Classes will run on Wednesdays from February 27 through April 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the St. John Street Education Center in Monticello. Course fee is $152. Learn the basic techniques of
playing a bagpipe, including appropriate scales and actual tunes. Students are responsible for the purchase of their practice chanter. INTRO TO HVAC SALES
February 28, sponsored by the Adult and Continuing Education Program at Sullivan BOCES. SHORT STORY DISCUSSION
“Someone,” a short story by Alice McDermott, will be discussed at the next meeting of the Great Books Discussion Program at the E.B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. Copies of the story are available at the library or in the January 30, 2012 issue of The New Yorker magazine. New members are welcome.

MONTI ELKS SCOTCH DOUBLES BOWLING – Reserve by February 25
Monticello Elks Lodge #1544 presents its 13th annual Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament at Kiamesha Lanes on Saturday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. Each team will consist of 1 male and 1 female. There will be 4 games of No Tap bowling plus a full chicken barbecue including beer, wine and soda at the Elks Lodge following the tournament. There will be prizes for the top 3 teams. AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM
