YOUNGSVILLE, NY (February 1, 2012) – Catskill Mountainkeeper, the regional environmental advocacy organization that is focused on protecting natural resources and promoting sustainable growth, has launched a new and revised website.
It can be found at www.catskillmountainkeeper.org.
According to Ramsay Adams, the organization’s Executive Director, “The new site is extremely content rich with more comprehensive material about all the issues that are important to our region. Our website has been a communications hub and important source of information for all those concerned about the future of the Catskills and this new version will only increase its utility.”
While the site has in-depth information about all of the organization’s programs and campaigns, including agriculture, casinos, carbon neutral Catskills and Trailkeeper, it has also become a critical source of research, news and current developments as the gas drilling issue has escalated as a threat to the Catskills. The revised site has reorganized the extensive information the organization has amassed regarding the threat of hydrofracking; from the danger of air pollution and water contamination to the threats to public health and the fabric of our communities.
The site will continue to be a source for news about all local and statewide efforts to prevent the effects of fracking from impacting our communities.
In addition to continually updating the site to provide the latest information on the topics that are important to its constituency, Catskill Mountainkeeper will also provide the ability for concerned citizens to get involved.
