BETHEL, NY (January 29, 2012) – Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has announced the return engagement of the New York Philharmonic on Saturday, July 7, 2012, featuring soloist Tracy Dahl and the NY Doo Wop Extravaganza III on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
Tickets for both concerts go on sale Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at BethelWoodsCenter.org or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. The Bethel Woods Box Office will open on Monday, February 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for advance ticket sales.
Celebrating Independence Day weekend in the bucolic hills of Sullivan County, NY, the New York Philharmonic welcomes soloist Tracy Dahl to the stage for selections by Gershwin and Bernstein. Bramwell Tovey will conduct the Philharmonic that will also include pieces from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.”
Families are encouraged to introduce children to this musical genre and spend an evening under the stars. A popular $60.00 “Family 4-Pack on the Lawn” is available and includes all service charges. Lawn tickets priced under $15.00 are available for students 17 and under. Free lawn tickets for kids 12 and under can be obtained at the box office with proof any adult ticket purchase.
On Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. smooth vocal harmonies and rhythm and blues music direct from the streets of New York City will fill The Catskills. The intimate pavilion-only concert welcomes to the stage The Duprees at photo right (“You Belong to Me”), Jay Siegel & The Tokens (“The Lion Sleeps Tonight)”, The Marcels (“Blue Moon”), The Tymes (“So Much in Love”), The Excellents (“Coney Island Baby”), Linda Jansen – original lead singer of The Angels (“My Boyfriend’s Back”) and The Elegants (“Little Star”).
Select reserved seats are specially priced for the first week of on-sale so everyone has a chance to see the Doo Wop stars. Offer ends Friday, February 10 at midnight*. Regular reserved ticket prices start at $27.00 (including service charges).
