LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (February 2, 2011) – The Shandelee Music Festival is proud to present world renowned jazz artists Mike Fahie and Randy Ingram at its 9th annual Outreach Concert.
The jazz duo will perform a program free to Sullivan County students, including a demonstration on how technology and music can work together to reach artistic excellence.
Mr. Fahie (pictured left) has gained international recognition for being the first ever Canadian Fulbright Scholar in Jazz. After performing in Carnegie Hall, he created the Mike Fahie Jazz Orchestra. Jazz pianist and composer Mr. Ingram (pictured below) has distinguished himself in his field, winning the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award. Currently, he performs in New York, and is often seen at jazz clubs such as Birdland, the Jazz Standard and Smalls.
The concert will be attended by over 200 Sullivan County students from Liberty, Livingston Manor, Tri-Valley, Eldred, Monticello and Sullivan West High Schools.
Open to the public, the concert is at 11:00 a.m. on February 4, 2011, taking place in the Seelig Theatre at Sullivan County Community College in Loch Sheldrake.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and Sullivan County teachers and students are free.
The Shandelee Music Festival thanks Sullivan County Community College (SUNY Sullivan) for their support and for providing refreshments, which will be served immediately following the performance.
