CRMC Now Offering LSVT Speech Therapy

HARRIS, NY (November 24, 2010) – The Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department is pleased to announce that its speech pathologists are now certified to perform Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT).
CRMC’s speech pathologists Vivian Liff, SLP, Rachelle Gittleson, CCC, SLP and Jennifer Kessler, CCC, SLP have undergone nationally-recognized training to become certified to provide LSVT. LSVT is an effective, research-based method of voice therapy for individuals who are aging or have Parkinson’s disease or other conditions, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. The treatment helps to improve vocal loudness, speech intelligibility and facial expressions, thus enhancing overall communication for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other conditions.
