Sullivan County’s libraries are many and varied in their offerings. From small and cozy to large and rambling they provide inspiration, education, community and fun. Because we at the Chronicle believe in the necessity of libraries to a well-informed public we offer here our Library Pages, containing the location and hours of operation for each library as well as links to each libraries presence on the internet.
Library Spotlight!is a column featuring an individual library – what’s available, what’s new and what’s coming up.

It is a blessing to have a community library to support. When I was a child, the Ramapo-Catskill library system served the Western Sullivan County communities by providing a Bookmobile. Today the Jeffersonville-area community has a library with fine programming for children, teens, and adults. Please support your local library. It is an asset that serves the whole community.
As a retired librarian (mostly in the ‘academic’ field, but my last job being in an Orange County Public library, I have to urge people all the more, to take advantage of our Public libraries and the public library system. Also, should you be more interested in wider access, you may join the SUNY Sullivan college library, for a very reasonable annual fee. We have a great abundance of learning, reading, databases and more at our fingertips. Please take advantage of all of this wealth!!! R. Dorn, Liberty NY
