Livingston Manor’s MazMyth Wins Grand Prize in The Break Contest

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY (May 1, 2011) – Local progressive rock band MazMyth, was selected the grand prize winner in the final round of School of Rock’s official Bamboozle Festival battle of the 
bands. The event was entitled “The Break Contest.”
On Saturday April 23, MazMyth traveled from Livingston Manor to the Gramercy Theater in New York City. Accompanied by two fan-filled buses from the Sullivan County Area, band members Matt Smith, Jordan Dumond, Danny Smith, Steven DeFreitas and Joe Papp played against four other local bands, also winners of The Break Contest Regional Finals.
MazMyth performed two original works of music in addition to a musical cover of Frankenstein by The Edgar Winter Group. Judged by a panel of music industry representatives, MazMyth was announced the grand prize winner.
As a result of that designation, MazMyth went on to play three stages at the Bamboozle Festival at The Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey this weekend.
