Liberty Rotary Roses Raise Scholarship Funds

LIBERTY, NY (May 3, 2011) – The Liberty Rotary Club recently conducted their annual Rose Sale to benefit the Liberty Rotary Scholarship Fund.
According to Rotary Rose Sale Chairperson, Pat Abbott over 400 dozen roses were sold during the club’s annual fundraiser raising over $2400 for scholarships. “Each year the Liberty Rotary Club presents several scholarships to seniors at the Liberty High School that have exhibited “Service Above Self” to their school and community” says Abbott. “The Annual Rose Sale helps us to provide funds to award these scholarships for which applications will be available at the Liberty High School Guidance Office.
The club also donated over 40 dozen roses to patients and staff at Catskill Regional Medical Center “We are so grateful to be able to distribute these beautiful roses throughout our hospital for the patients and staff”, said CRMC Director of Volunteers Jodi Goodman. “Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Liberty Rotary Club members for their generosity and thoughtfulness.”
The Liberty Rotary Club is part of Rotary International which is the world’s first service club organization with over 1.2 million members who volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.
