Sullivan County Habitat Announces Informational Forum for Potential Homeowners

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY (August 17, 2011) – Sullivan County Habitat for Humanity has scheduled an informational forum for Monday,
August 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fallsburg Senior Center on Laurel Avenue in South Fallsburg.
The meeting will address the next Habitat house which will be situated in the Town of Fallsburg. Construction on the house is scheduled to begin in this fall. The meeting is open to potential homeowners as well as potential volunteers and the general public.
Sullivan Habitat President, Pat Pomeroy will be presenting information on eligibility and the application process. Applications will be available for interested families. The group will be constructing a four-bedroom, energy-efficient house on the corner of Laurel Lane and Decker Street – one block off Route 42.
The architects and construction engineers will be at the meeting along with Habitat officers to answer questions about the house design and functionality.
The house will contain many features designed to reduce energy costs and is forward thinking in design. The organization is excited to have the professional services of several environmental experts on this project.
Applications for the house will be accepted until September 15, 2011. Once a family is chosen they will provide sweat equity during the building process. For additional information or directions please call the organization at 845-791-8305 or call Pat Pomeroy at 607-498-5757.
