MONTICELLO, NY (August 31, 2011) – Sullivan County Manager David Fanslau announced that New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) will distribute another round dry ice and bottled water to their customers that remain out of power from the impacts associated with Hurricane Irene.
The distribution points are as follows from 12:00 noon each day while supplies last until NYSEG customers are fully restored. NYSEG is anticipating a new shipment of product from New Jersey overnight for distribution today.
1. Fallsburg Police Department 19 Railroad Avenue, South Fallsburg (845) 434-4422.
2. White Lake Fire House on Route 17B in White Lake.
3. White Sulpher Springs Fire House on Route 52 in White Sulpher Springs.
4. Monticello Fire House, Richardson Avenue in Monticello
Dry ice and bottled water is expected to be distributed daily, while supplies last, until power is restored to all of NYSEG’s Sullivan County customers.

It’s very interesting that so many electric and gas companies have been distributing dry ice because of the storms. I wonder if this is regulated by the state or if they are just doing it out of the goodness of the heart. Does anyone know?
