County Manager Declares “Sullivan County is Open for Business”

THE SULLIVAN COUNTY CATSKILLS (September 2, 2011) – Sullivan County Manager David Fanslau issued the following statement today: "Sullivan County has recovered quite well from the wrath of last weekend’s Hurricane Irene.
“While the long-term repairs to the public roads and bridges will require FEMA aid, the vast majority (if not all) of the Sullivan County Catskills is clear for traveling and its businesses are open and welcoming visitors.
“This weekend’s Elton John concert at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will go on as planned on Saturday, as well as, the plays at the Forestburgh Playhouse, DeBruce’s Labor Day Celebration, the Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods on Sunday, a working farm tour, various exhibits, farmer’s markets and much more.
“For more information on the Sullivan County Catskills, visit the SCVA website at www.scva.net where you will find a complete list of attractions, river rafting and fishing, golf, events, restaurants and fantastic shopping opportunities.
“Located only 90 minutes from New York City, the Sullivan County Catskills is the place to be during this Labor
Day weekend."
