April 14, 2013 by The Catskill Chronicle
MONTICELLO, NY (April 14, 2013) – On May 15 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless will partner with the Sullivan County BOCES
Literacy Zone to bring you "Spring Fling."
Slated to take place at the Federation’s 9 Monticello Street location, this free fun and informational event will feature a special breakfast along with a summer clothing exchange, information on GED classes, tips on summer safety and food ideas.
Attendees will also be treated to special prize raffles and giveaways throughout the event.
Summer means an increase in outdoor activities – things like swimming, sports and BBQ’s. Different organizations will be on hand to provide information and advise people on the do’s and don’ts of sun exposure, safe food handling, etc.
"We felt this would be a great way to help folks get ready and stay safe for the upcoming summer season," says Kathy Meckle, Adult Education Instructor for BOCES.
The Federation for the Homeless provides education, goods and services to those who are without resources.
Sullivan County BOCES Literacy Zone empowers individuals and families to pursue economic self-sufficiency and financial independence.
If you would like to donate gently used summer clothing specifically for this event or would like to find out how to participate, please call Kathy Kreiter at 845-794-2604.
