The National Weather Service In Binghamton Has Issued A * Flash Flood Watch For Portions Of New York And Northeast Pennsylvania… Including The Following Counties…
In New York…Broome…Chemung…Chenango…Cortland…Delaware… Madison…Northern Oneida…Onondaga…Otsego…Schuyler… Seneca…Southern Cayuga…Southern Oneida…Steuben… Sullivan…Tioga…Tompkins And Yates.
In Northeast Pennsylvania…Bradford…Lackawanna…Luzerne…Northern Wayne…Pike…Southern Wayne….Susquehanna And Wyoming. *
From Thursday Afternoon Through Friday Afternoon. * Showers And Thunderstorms Are Expected To Develop Thursday Afternoon…Then Become Widespread Over The Region Thursday Evening…And Into The Overnight Period.
Some Of These Showers And Storms Will Produce Torrential Rainfall. In Locations Where Heavier Downpours Persist The Longest…Localized Rainfall Amounts Of 3 Inches Or Greater Are Possible. * The Primary Impacts Are Expected To Be Localized Flash Flooding…Along Smaller Creeks And Streams…And Perhaps More Urbanized Areas. Although Significant Rises Are Anticipated Along The Main Stem Rivers…They Are Expected To Stay Mostly Within Bankfull Limits. Faster Response Headwater Points May Have To Be Watched More Closely…As They Tend To Rise More Rapidly.
