To the editor:
I attended the “NYAgainstFracking” protest on May 15, 20120 at the Capitol, in Albany NY.
What an experience!
This is essentially, the birth of anew movement, and if the momentum can be continued, I believe New York State canbe the next state to ban fracking.
Over 100 groups coordinatedtogether including, Catskill Mountainkeeper, Food & Water Watch,CitizenAction.org, many more, in a mass protest inside the Capitolbuilding.
A concert at the Egg was hosted by Oscar-nominated actor, Mark Ruffalo, Catskill mountain area resident, and headlined by many performers, includingNatalie Merchant, Joan Osbourne, actress Melissa Leo, Trisha Adlesic,Producer of the documentary “Gasland,” and Callicoon resident, and somany more, in a performance that can only be described as deeplymoving and amazing.
Speakers and performers put their hearts into thisand it showed. The constant refrain, “Ban Fracking Now!, Cuomo!”
