Dear Editor:
Just a note of thanks and praise for a program that was held at the Seelig Theatre of SUNY Sullivan last week.
Professor David Pollack, who is a long-time professor at SUNY Sullivan, presented a most inspiring and informative video and comments on his recent trip to Nepal – on the other side of the world.
He hiked the trails that lead to Mt. Everest and brought back incredible information and colorful stories about life there.
I spoke to David after the show (he is my nephew) about his many trips all over the world that I know he takes and asked him if I had missed any previous programs. He said that he had not produced any.
I just think that something like this, open to the public for free, is a great way to involve our local people.
It will be a long, cold winter, and perhaps we can get some more of such events in the planning.
