To the Editor:
This is a letter of Thank You to all the folks who helped raise almost $600 for a local food pantry and soup kitchen.
The Transformation Choir has been practicing for the last few weeks on a cantata “I Hear the Prophet Callin” and performed it on Thursday and Friday, Dec.3 and 4. Jack Hardy, internationally known folksinger/songwriter who spends his time between Callicoon and New York City performed the second half of the program.
The audience showed their appreciation with enthusiastic applause and generous contributions of both food and cash for the benefit of the Grahamsville Food Pantry and the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless’ soup kitchen.
The Choir, local folks from area churches who volunteer their time and talent, love to sing and they work hard to bring their gift of music to the area, especially when it can benefit hungry people in their communities, but without the generous folks who came to listen and respond, the cupboards in the pantry and the soup kitchen would be empty. So Thank You to the Choir , to Jack and to all of you who attended these two events.
There is one more chance to enjoy the music and bring the gift of food to your neighbors in need. The last performance of “I Hear the Prophet Callin” will take place on Friday, Dec.18 at 7:30 PM at the Jeffersonville Presybterian Church. Join us!
