To the Editor:
On November 2 the residents of the Town of Neversink get to choose between the truth and integrity or hypocrisy.
The truth is:
People brag about their wet bars.
There are two fire companies that have well-stocked wet bars.
Individuals have to leave the town or county to buy beer, wine, etc.
Out-of-county purchases reduce sales taxes for Sullivan County.
There are many Super Bowl Sunday parties in the Town of Neversink with food and alcoholic drinks.
A restaurant can survive or flourish by offering beer, wine or a cocktail with a meal.
The DWI rate is no different in Neversink then the surrounding towns.
So on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd, vote for truth, and for Neversink becoming a “wet” town.
If you drink alcohol at home or when you are out, and vote against Neversink becoming a wet town, please explain your hypocrisy to your children, grandchildren and friends, and to those in this town who are suffering economically because of this ban.
