MONTICELLO, NY (December 18, 2012) – The Monticello Middle School Builders Club members
recently took a trip to Walmart to purchase toys to donate to United Way of Sullivan County.
They were joined by Club Advisor Bill Ofelein and Kiwanis Club Liaisons Jane Sorensen and Sheila Lashinsky.
The members had loads of fun on the bus singing holiday songs wearing their Christmas caps and/or reindeer antlers.
When they arrived at Walmart, they invaded the toy department where everyone got to work picking out toys and games that toddlers and young children would enjoy – from Candyland to toy trucks to dolls and stuffed animals totaling over $150.00. These items were purchased with monies collected by the Builders Club hosting various events.
The members were greeted warmly by United Way Chief Professional Officer Kaytee Warren, who thanked the children for their generous and thoughtful donation and said these gifts will make many children in the County very happy during this holiday season.
