KAUNEONGA LAKE – If it ain’t made in the good ‘ole US of A, don’t even think about it!

A Monte Carlo SS leads the pack.
One of the popular divisions in asphalt oval track racing at Bethel Motor Speedway is the Pro Stock Division, and according to the ‘Rules of Rocket’, outlined by track promoters Dave and Joanne Rocket, only American made cars are allowed to compete in the division, except Jeeps, trucks, rag tops, station wagons, two-seaters or front wheel drive vehicles.

Headed into a turn at speed.
The Rocket’s A-List still leaves a lot of room for American icons such as Chevrolet and Ford, with an occasional Dodge tossed into the racing mix for good measure.
Roll cages (four post-six point) are mandatory for driver safety, and engines are limited to 406 cubic inches to keep the racing competitive.

Sometimes things get a little squirrely on out the hot asphalt.
