SUNY Sullivan Foundation Announces “Men Who Make a Difference” Honorees for 2013

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (September 22, 2013) – Every two years, the SUNY Sullivan Foundation honors men whose efforts and influence have had
positive impacts on Sullivan County and the region. Past honorees have included businessmen, social activists, educators, politicians, and others of great import to our community at large.
As SUNY Sullivan celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, the 2013 list of honorees includes men who have been integral in the establishment and continuing growth of the college as an important and influential Sullivan County institution. Among these men are educators, administrators, alumni, and board members. Their service and dedication to the college will be honored at a reception to be held in October.
The 2013 Men Who Make A Difference honorees.
DR. Richard K. Greenfield – Being honored for Presidential Leadership, Dr. Greenfield was the first President of SUNY Sullivan.
Harold L. Gold – Being honored for his humanitarianism, Gold is a founding college member and a Trustee Emeritus. He is a current SUNY Sullivan Foundation board member.
Harold Diamond (photo above) – Being honored for his educational service, Diamond is a Trustee Emeritus, and a former member of the SUNY Sullivan Foundation.
Joel Lerner – Being honored for teaching and learning, Lerner is an original member of the college faculty.
Steven L. Kaufman – Being honored as a distinguished alumnus, Kaufman is a 1970 alum. He is the SUNY Sullivan Foundation Treasurer and current Chair of the Dormitory Corporation.
Donald Taylor – Being honored for his efforts in youth empowerment, Taylor is a 1993 alumnus and former member of the Sullivan Generals Men’s Basketball Team.
Thomas Ambrosino – Being honored for his 42 years of service to the college as a Professor of Computer Graphics/Graphic Design, Ambrosino is Professor Emeritus and a 1968 alumnus.
The SUNY Sullivan Men Who Make A Difference Cocktail Reception will be held at Bernie’s Holiday Restaurant in Rock Hill, NY on Thursday, October 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $50.00 per person, and those planning to attend must RSVP by October 17. Reservations can be made by calling Hillary Egeland at 845-434-5750, ext. 4377, or via email to hegeland@sunysullivan.edu.
