NonProfit Leadership Summit Seeks Applications for 2014 Innovation Award – Deadline is March 3, 2014
February 19, 2014 by The Catskill Chronicle
SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY (February 19, 2014) – The Awards Committee for the 2014 Nonprofit Leadership Summit is currently seeking applications for its
Second Annual Nonprofit Innovation Award.
The award honors local nonprofit organizations that demonstrate innovation in the areas of collaboration, marketing, organizational operations and programs. It offers a $5,000 cash prize, as well as an opportunity for the organization’s team to present its creative initiatives to the judges and nonprofit leaders at the March 27 event at Bethel Woods.
The size of the organization is not a major factor. Applications for this award are welcome from organizations at all levels, but the innovation(s) should generate demonstrable results and benefit the community at large.
“What is really exciting about the Innovation Award is that it rewards nonprofit leaders for thinking outside the box,” notes Irene Jones, Program Development Manager for Marshall & Sterling, Inc., who heads the 2014 Awards Committee for the Nonprofit Leadership Summit. “Today nonprofits are faced with stringent funding cuts, but they still must fulfill their missions. The Innovation Award gives these pioneering nonprofits much needed funds, while building a culture of innovation and collaboration, as each finalist shares their innovative ideas with entire Summit audience.”
The presentation of the first Nonprofit Innovation Award was one of the highlights of the 2013 Summit. The Community Reporting Alliance, a youth-run community newspaper from Livingston Manor won with the first place prize. Runners up were Crystal Run Village and Rural & Migrant Ministry. The three finalists for the 2014 Innovation Award will be announced at a press conference prior to the Summit.
The deadline for applications is March 3, 2014. Sullivan County Nonprofits can download an application at: http://www.catskills.com/chamber-information/leadership-sullivan-county.aspx .
