SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY (November 25, 2013) – Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther has received a 95 percent rating from EPL/Environmental Advocates for the 2013 Legislative Session.
Her votes on legislation such as the New York Solar Bill, the fracking moratorium and health impacts assessment earned her the near-perfect score.
Peter M. Iwanowicz, Executive Director EPL/Environmental Advocates said, ”I congratulate Assemblywoman Gunther for the strong score in this year’s Environmental Scorecard. Time after time she put the public before the interests of those who would pollute our and water or who would make it harder to address the impacts of our changing climate. In so doing, she is one of New York’s champions when it comes to a protected environment and healthier kids."
“As a mother, a grandmother, and an elected official, I feel I have a responsibility to future generations to protect the environment,” said Assemblywoman Gunther. “The 100th Assembly District is home to some of the most genuine and effective environmentalists in New York. I’m always happy work with them and EPL/Environmental Advocates.”
