SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY (March 31, 2014) – Senator Bonacic (R/C/I- Mt. Hope) has announced that the NYS budget will provide increased Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) Impact Aid.
The increase in VLT aid will greatly benefit Sullivan County, which will receive approximately $308,000 in aid. This is approximately $66,000 more than the Governor originally proposed for VLT aid for Sullivan County.
“I am very pleased to see that my Senate colleagues and I were able to push for this increased VLT aid,” said Senator Bonacic. “It is vital to alleviate additional costs related to maintaining gaming facilities for municipalities.”
In addition, the Town of Thompson is set to receive over $634,000 in VLT aid, an increase of over $135,000. The Village of Monticello is expected to receive more than $291,000, an increase of approximately $62,000.
The negotiated final state budget allocations for VLT aid throughout Sullivan County are more than a 25% increase from the Governor’s proposed VLT aid allocation.
