MONTICELLO, NY (April 27, 2015) – Monticello High School’s Dance Department presents the 6th Annual Spring Dance Concert on Friday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m.
This performance presents class, student and guest choreography performed by all high school dance classes, alumni and the Monticello Dance Company.
Admission is free for this performance, but donations are welcomed and appreciated; with all proceeds benefiting the Dance Department’s future performances. The performance takes place in the Arnold Packer Hughes Auditorium.

The Monticello High School Music Department will hold their annual Spring Concerts – Part One at Nesin Theatre (St. John’s Street) on Monday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m, featuring solo instrumentalists along with small chamber ensembles (upperclassmen).
The Part 2 concert will be held at the Arnold Packer Hughes Auditorium (High School) on Tuesday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. The Jazz Band, Concert Band, Chorus and Orchestra programs will be performing. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Orchestra will be playing four pieces of varying genres for this year’s concert. We are including a traditional Bluegrass Fiddle tune and a traditional Blues number to our usual classical offerings. Not to ignore the classics, we are presenting a string arrangement of the famous “Little Fugue in g minor” by JS Bach. The highlight of the performance will be the "Adagio" movement of Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez”, featuring Patrick Cook as the solo guitarist, in an arrangement for string orchestra by the director, Nancy Wegrzyn.
The Chorus will be performing "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" (From Sweeney Todd) by Stephen Soundheim Arr. Andy Beck, "Battle Hymn of the Republic" arr. Peter J. Wilhousky, and "And Wherever You Go" by Douglas E. Wagner. John Bernstein will be the accompanist.
The Concert Band will be performing "Crush" by Robert W. Smith, "Invicta" by James Swearingen, and "Suite from the Star Wars Epic" by John Williams, Arranged By Robert W. Smith. The Jazz Band will be performing "1.21 Gigawatts" by Rich WoolWorth, "Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione, Arranged by Victor Lopez with Soloist Andrew Nagoda on Flugelhorn, and "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Louis Prima, Arranged Victor Lopez.
