FANDOM LOCK
On Tuesday, July 28, teens are invited to a Fandom Lock In from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Library on Broadway in Monticello. A fandom is a community of readers, writers, artists, cosplayers, and fans of a book, movie, or TV show. Dress up and show off your favorite fandom! Show off your knowledge with fandom trivia, make some nerdy nummies, and more. Fandoms include, but are not limited to, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, and Sherlock. Registration is required. 794-4660.
COOKING WITH KALE

DIABETES PROGRAM
Catskill Regional Medical Center, together with the A1C Champions Program of Sanofi U.S., will be providing a free, one-hour educational program on diabetes management and treatment. The event will take place in the second floor boardroom at Catskill Regional Medical Center on Thursday, July 30 at 3:00 p.m. The free seminar at Catskill Regional will include discussion on using insulin to help achieve blood sugar control, reaching healthy A1C levels, misconceptions about insulin and the challenges of finding balance with controlling blood sugar and starting insulin. COMIC JAM WORKSHOP
On Saturday, August 1, the Crawford Library on Broadway in Monticello will host a Comic Jam workshop with artist Ira Marks for kids going into grades 3-5. Kids will use their imaginations, work together, and draw comics. Ira Marks is the author and illustrator of The Aquarium Drift, Witch Knots and more. Registration is required at 794-4660.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts presents Peter Cetera joined on stage by the Hudson Valley Philharmonic on Sunday, August 2. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has announced the return of Lynyrd Skynyrd to the Pavilion Amphitheater stage on Friday, August 14. The Marshall Tucker Band will also perform, making it a night jam-packed with classic southern rock.

CHICKEN BARBECUE
On Saturday, August 15 the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will have Chicken Barbeque dinners. Included are a 1/2 chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, cookies and brownies. Take out only. “WHAT THE HILL” CELEBRATION – VENDORS WANTED
The Columbia Hill Neighborhood Alliance (CHNA) will host the first “What the Hill” Celebration at the Hurleyville Fire House on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. The community celebration will offer information on the history of Columbia Hill and on the responsible development of Columbia Hill, entertainment and fun activities for kids. Spaces are available for vendors. Environmental groups and community organizations are also invited to reserve a space at no charge. Parking will be available at the fire house at 166 Main Street in Hurleyville. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will round out the 2015 M&M Auto Country Music Mega Ticket with a performance by Rascal Flatts on Sunday, August 30.
