New Renaissance Program for Towns and Villages in Sullivan County – Deadline 11/30/15

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY (October 25, 2015) – Sullivan Renaissance has announced a new Municipal Partnership Grant Program to encourage towns and villages to address issues related to maintenance of public spaces, beautifying gateways, enhancing code enforcement and encouraging healthy communities.

massyellowflower2_thumbFive municipalities in Sullivan County will be selected to receive initial grants of $15,000 each, with some match required.  One of them will win a $100,000 capital grant secured by NYS Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, as part of the annual Sullivan Renaissance beautification competition.

In addition to the initial grants, municipalities will receive technical assistance and training relating to planning and zoning issues, offered through a partnership with the Sullivan County Division of Planning.

Municipalities interested in participating in this grant program must complete an Expression of Interest form by November 30.  An electronic version of the form is available on the Sullivan Renaissance web site:

http://www.sullivanrenaissance.org/_doc/Municipal_Partnership_Expression_Interest_Form.pdf.

Sullivan Renaissance is also accepting applications for early admission to its 2016 community beautification and maintenance support grant programs.  Deadline for completed applications is Monday, November 2.  Applicants will be notified before Thanksgiving whether they have been approved for a grant in the 2016 program.

Sullivan Renaissance representatives will visit municipalities and community groups at their convenience to explain the programs and assist with applications.  Other Sullivan Renaissance grant programs retain their traditional application deadlines which vary based on the program.

For more information, contact Sullivan Renaissance at http://www.sullivanrenaissance.org or 845-295-2445.

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation.  Sponsors include Bold Gold Media Group/Thunder 102, FisherMears Associates, Kristt Company, Robert Green Dealerships, Sullivan County Democrat, The River Reporter, Thompson Sanitation, and WSUL/WVOS.
