Twice Divorced – By Grayce Goin
Dear Twice Divorced,
I lost all my tomatoes this year to the late blight. Will that happen again next year? Is there something I can do to fight it?
Grousing in Grahamsville
Dear Grousing,
While I am unaware of a blight, I do know that the unusually cool wet summer we have been having throughout our entire region has led to a dearth of regional tomatoes.
These plants need heat and a reasonable amount of water in order to thrive. In addition to giving the plants entirely too much water, the amount of rain we have been having has depleted the soil of necessary nutrients to produce healthy, productive plants. The following two links are good sources of information to prepare your garden plot for tomatoes next year:

Hopefully you will remember me when you have an overabundance of tomatoes next summer.
Be Well
